HLB collaborated with DMJM Rottet in creating a stylized environment that reflects this LA law firm's progressive new image. Our scope of work for this 55,000 square foot project included lighting design for the lobby, an interconnecting staircase, typical office space, a state-of-the-art conference center, custom administrative workstations, reception area, a law library, breakroom, and a video conference room.

The team focused on a design that would provide support of clean detailed forms. Lighting solutions using standard fixtures with simple geometric shapes to express the architectural elements were developed. An easy task it would seem - not so! The devil is in the details. In key spaces, placement of patterns of light from small aperture round fixtures as well as very narrow rectangular shaped fixtures had to be carefully coordinated with the architect in order to create seamless symmetry of the ceiling articulation and geometry.
