Pico Boulevard Streetscape

Santa Monica, California

The $5.1 million, 30-block Pico Boulevard revitalization plan was to unify the street by creating a distinct identity.  The boulevard now emphasizes design, sustainability, and community identity.  HLB collaborated with the landscape architect in the design of custom leaf shaped pedestrian pole lights to help provide the striking identity for the streetscape.  HLB also worked with artist Sheila Klein on the lighting design for the “tree of lights” at the project gateway.
