Four Seasons Hotel
Seattle, Washington
Located in the heart of downtown Seattle and across from the expanded Seattle Art Museum , this new five-star, 21-story hotel and condo tower consists of 150 guestrooms and 36 ultra luxury condominium suites featuring breathtaking water and mountain views. Residents are able to order an array of services, from residential valet parking to spa treatments to meals prepared by a private chef. The hotel also features extensive meeting and function space and a more than 5,000 square foot ballroom with unique water views, an exclusive urban spa and fitness center, pool deck, signature restaurant and lounge. Collaborating with NBBJ Architects and Brayton + Hughes Design Studio, our scope involved all interior and exterior public areas of this modern and chic hotel which celebrates the beauty and culture of the Pacific Northwest.
As guests move through veils of light and architecture, luminous planes give way to translucent and then transparent glass. Once inside, the warmth and sophistication of natural materials rendered in a minimalist manner is made dramatic by light and shadow with a touch of sparkle. The beauty of the many seasons of Seattle 's infamous rain weaves its way through the experience of this resort hotel as a graceful and refined palette of materials is incorporated into multiple facets of both the interior and exterior of the building.
The lighting design for this project has received the Lumen West Award of Merit.
