Celebration Health

Orlando, Florida

Florida Hospital challenged the design team to design and build a healthcare facility that is not just state of the art, but beyond state of the art.   The lighting concept, in response to the challenge, was to create a spa-like atmosphere of healing and well-being.   This concept was accomplished with the use of visible, soft glowing light sources eliciting a sense of calm and repose.   The use of indirect light reinforced the tranquil atmosphere by highlighting the sky-blue ceiling.  

Signature fixtures are used throughout the project.   The fixtures, developed in a collaborative effort by the design team, reinforce the architecture and provide human scale in the monumental spaces.

The night lighting utilizes the internal glow of the building to create a warm, inviting oasis where one can come to be healed.   The main architectural feature - a tower - is softly highlighted to act as a beacon.   The formal palm tree lined drive is illuminated at night with uplights signaling the main entrance to the building.
