Beverly Center Renovation

The Beverly Center had not been revitalized in more than 20 years when Callison Architecture was brought in to renovate this 906,000 square foot, multi-level mall.   The Beverly Center is a high-end urban retail mall consisting of restaurants at ground level, a six-level parking structure, and a three-level shopping center including shops, entertainment, and dining.   The project goals were to create an upscale chic environment that continues to attract prestigious clients.

Lighting was a key element in the revitalization program focusing on a sophisticated and elegant palette for the interior and exterior. Major areas of renovation include a new upscale valet area with an express elevator, the existing food court with a new outdoor rooftop terrace overlooking downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood Hills, and seating areas located throughout the concourse.

A combination of drama and sparkle greets the shopper at every turn, as colored light, warm sources, glowing graphic panels, and strategically placed decorative luminaries create and upscale and sophisticated ‘hospitality' look.

This lighting design has been recognized with a Lumen West Award of Merit.
