HLB
Lighting Design is an internationally recognized design firm with
nine principals and a diversely talented team of designers and technical
experts. Founded in 1968, HLB takes a dynamic approach to its business
and is seeking a self-motivated, hands-on individual that thrives
in a fast-paced environment working with senior partners. This position
is located in our NY office reporting directly to the CFO/Senior
Principal and is responsible for all financial accounting for the
firm's multiple locations. We offer a complete benefit package including

Duties
and Responsibilities
Manage firm-wide financial and business
operations, including A/P, A/R, cash flow, investments, monthly and
quarterly close, maintenance of financial records, legal issues and
facilities. Develop and maintain effective financial/accounting policies,
processes and internal controls, manage annual audit and annual budget
process. Generate regular financial statements and analyses, manage
cash flow forecasting and ensure all tax filing are completed. Supervise
IT and HR departments. Specific tasks include:
Financial
Management
-
Facilitate
development, review, and revision of annual organization budget
process with management team and monitor, report and facilitate
adjustments throughout year. Chairs monthly budget meetings.

Manage
all financial operations, including A/P, A/R, cash flow, investments,
monthly and quarterly close of accounting, and maintenance of
financial records.

Generate
financial statements in coordination with corporate accountant.

Develop
and maintain effective financial/accounting policies, processes,
and internal controls.

Manage
annual financial audit.

Ensure
compliance of financial practices.

Develop
and maintain effective contract and billing infrastructure.

Oversee
long-term budgetary planning and cost-containment in alignment
with strategic plan.
Financial
Reporting
- Generate
regular financial statements and analyses for the Management Team. Customize
internal financial statements and reports as needed by management.
- Manage
cash flow forecasting.
- Ensure
all annual, quarterly, and periodic national, state, and local filings
are completed- e.g. annual tax filings, quarterly worker's compensation
and unemployment insurance filings, tax exemption filings.

Develop
and implement effective operational processes.

Support
Management Team with research, evaluation and negotiation of major
purchases and contracts.

Develop
and implement effective systems and tools for assessing, purchasing,
and maintaining appropriate IT hardware, software, services, etc.

Ensure
effective planning, administration, and support for IT across
the organization.

Ensure
compliance of HR policies, practices and records with all relevant
national, state and local laws and regulations.

Oversee
payroll and benefits administration.
Legal
- Insure
all appropriate notifications, minutes and documents are filed to comply
with state and federal regulations.
- WBE/DBE
certifications.
- Responsible for management of all corporate
insurance packages and claims.

Ten
years experience in financial management and accounting. Professional
services finance experience preferred.

Masters
degree or equivalent; or ten years related experience and/or training.
CPA preferred.

Ability
to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather
and analyze information skillfully.

Experience
supervising IT, facilities, HR and other administrative management
functions.

Hands-on
manager with strong sense of ownership in department function.

Willingness
to make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment.

Experience
developing and managing staff.
