Ritz Carlton Kapalua Renovation

HLB collaborated with SB Architects and Interior Designer Philpotts & Associates to create this luminous island paradise. The inspiration of the renovation was the natural rugged beauty surrounding the resort, as well as the historic Hawaiian culture. A palette of indigenous materials from the islands was extensively used to better reflect this sensibility. Our lighting approach consisted of subtle brushstrokes to highlight the beauty of the natural materials, lighting underneath the bar at the restaurant created a soft luminous glow without distracting from the view.
