Los Angeles Police Department Headquarters

This new headquarters has allowed the LAPD to vacate their aging and earthquake-damaged Parker Center, and relocate into a state-of-the-art, $440 million, 500,000 square foot facility. Located in the heart of LA’s civic center and across from both the historic City Hall and the modern Caltrans Headquarters, this civic landmark complements the mixture of old and new structures. HLB collaborated with AECOM and TMAD Taylor & Gaines on the lighting design for the 10-story structure which houses office space for nearly 2,400 workers. Our scope included the site, plaza and landscaping, a 450-seat auditorium, upper plaza level main lobby and reception, Compstat command center, conference rooms, offices, and public circulation, as well as collaboration with a public artist.
