A successful project starts with a creative vision, comprehension of the functional needs, strong technical expertise, solid interpretation of the constraints, and an understanding of new technologies to fulfill the client's expectations. Our designers collaborate closely with the team members on light pollution issues, the reduction of energy, use of lighting controls, and optimization of daylight. 

In response to advancing technology and evolving environmental codes, we developed a full service Daylighting/Sustainable Design (DSD) Studio, comprised of principals with over 20 years of design expertise and designers with specific expertise in a variety of environmentally sensitive design topics.

Led by Hayden McKay, an industry expert in the field of daylighting and solar analysis, the DSD Studio addresses the sustainability of lighting within the context of greater environmental awareness by providing in-house expertise and training, a clearinghouse of information, and outreach to professional and governmental bodies. As a member of the USBGC and through working with organizations such as the Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the IESNA, we remain involved in the community and dedicated to green practices.  Approximately half of our design staff is LEED Accredited and we are committed to designing projects as an integral process - combining energy conservation, daylighting and architectural lighting design into dramatic and energy-efficient solutions.
