Associate Principal
As
an Associate Principal on the design team, Tina Aghassian's responsibilities
include design and management of all phases of a project. Ms. Aghassian's
dedication to strong design and ability to lead and coordinate complex
client teams has led to the successful execution of unique and memorable
projects. In addition, Ms. Aghassian spearheads the firm's international
studio.
Background
Ms. Aghassian was born in Nicosia, Cyprus.
While studying architectural design at California State University,
Long Beach she worked for two design firms where she was introduced to
the field of architectural lighting design and continued her professional
training. During her tenure she was a member of the design team on projects
such as the J. Paul Getty Center Central Garden, the San Pedro Peninsula
Hospital Chapel, and the Nashville Arena. Ms Aghassian has also
worked for a notable a design-build
lighting consulting firm where she gained valuable experience designing
various scale residences, and being involved intimately with the construction
phase of these projects. Since
joining HLB in 1997, Ms. Aghassian continues her to build upon her experience
with a variety of project types including large and small scale commercial
projects, transportation facilities, educational facilities, residences,
museums, performance venues, offices, retail spaces, exterior landscapes,
site master plan and building façades.

Affiliations
Ms. Aghassian
has guest lectured for the Designer's Lighting Forum (DLF) and Illuminating
Engineering Society (IES) and has served as a volunteer on the American
Institute of Architects (AIA) Habitat for Humanity Architectural Committee.
She looks forward to continuing involvement in the local chapter
of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). In
addition, Ms. Aghassian is Lighting Certified (LC) by the National Council
on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions.
