E. Teal Brogden, IALD, IESNA, LC
Senior Principal

As a Senior Design Principal, Teal Brogden works closely with the design team to ensure that the needs of a project are met through the use of innovative, high quality lighting design. Programming and design development are her primary focus in order to establish a strong design direction that will meet the client's needs.   In addition, Ms. Brogden is responsible for overseeing the design quality standards firm-wide.

Background
Ms. Brogden was born in Sudbury, Massachusetts. While studying architectural engineering at the University of Colorado, she became interested in lighting design and developed a broad technical base in the school's renowned lighting program. Her interest in architectural lighting design brought her to the consulting firm of Jules Fisher & Paul Marantz in New York, where she was responsible for the design and management of a wide variety of projects, including the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC and the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Barcelona. Ms. Brogden joined Horton Lees Brogden's San Francisco office in April 1991 and spearheaded the opening of the Los Angeles office in 1994. She has been expanding her experience with projects including performing arts venues, museums, transportation, hospitality, corporate offices, mixed-use developments, universities, lab/research facilities, landscapes, and building facades.

Professional Affiliations
Ms. Brogden has participated as a Board Member and is a Professional Member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), a Member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) and an Allied Member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).   Ms. Brogden has taught and guest lectured at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (Sci-Arc), UCLA Extension, CU Boulder, and USC, as well as contributed as a frequent speaker at numerous professional organization events.  In addition, Ms. Brogden is Lighting Certified (LC) by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions.
