HORTON LEES BROGDEN LIGHTING DESIGN ANNOUNCES NEW ASSOCIATES
Carrie Knowlton, IESNA is an Associate who rejoined the New York office
of Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design in 2001. She holds a Bachelor of Environmental
Design from Miami University and a Master of Science in Lighting from the Lighting
Research Center at RPI . Carrie is a senior designer working on several prominent
projects firm wide. She also is the Business Development Manager for eLumit
Inc., an internet company created by HLB Lighting Design in 2002. eLumit.com
is a comprehensive online search engine designed by lighting designers for lighting
specifiers. She is an active member of the Illuminating Engineering Society
of North America (IESNA) serving as the Awards Co-chairperson this year. Over
the course of her career she has received a Lumen Citation and an IIDA Regional
award.
Frank Gerardo, LC, is an Associate who joined the Los Angeles office
in 1998. Frank graduated from Don Bosco Technical Institute where he majored
in architectural design and attended the Otis Art Institute. Over a span of
twenty five years, he has been responsible for the design of a wide variety
of building types including large and small scale site development, shopping
centers, houses of worship, showrooms, medical facilities, office buildings,
government projects and retail spaces. Some of his recent projects include Ocean
Institute of Ocean County, Dana Point, CA, Santana Row, San Jose , CA , and
UCSD Pharmaceutical Sciences Building, San Diego , CA . He currently heads up
the HLB product development team for a new product series of exterior fixtures
for a major exterior lighting manufacturer. Frank is Lighting Certified (LC)
by the National Council of Qualifications for Lighting Practitioners. He received
the IES/IIDA Award of Merit and the Lumen West Award of Merit for his work on
Safeco Field, Seattle, WA, Sherman Oaks Galleria, Sherman Oaks, CA and the Lumen
West Award of Excellence for his work on the Los Angeles City Hall Exterior
Historic Renovation.
