MetLife Tower Facade Lighting

The MetLife Tower has currently undergone a comprehensive renovation and refurbishment of the historic facade and exterior lighting. Imagine relighting a fifty-story landmark tower that has been part of the New York City holiday lighting program for decades and making all elements of the system automated, including changing floodlighting colors and supporting scheduled events as well as dynamic lighting shows.   At the same time imagine having to develop a custom color-changing floodlight to provide the distribution needed and to fit the physical constraints of the project. Then tackle the need for a reliable show controller and network that addresses all lighting fixtures individually. Finally, do it all while overcoming maintenance concerns and staying within budget.

The lighting schemes were developed to incorporate the following criteria: cost effective equipment, ease of maintenance, straightforward installation, energy efficiency, and high visibility balanced with MetLife's conservative corporative identify.
